ARTHUR FREEMAN * PLAYED OUT PLAY GIRL * REGAL * NORTHERN SOUL * 7" 45 rpm
This is an original 1962 US Regal Records of Florida 45 rpm 7 inch single containing the original 1st cut of the soulful midtempo shuffler titled 'Played Out Playgirl' from Arthur Freeman, which was later recut in the 7Ts and re-released on the Astor-Arts and the Excello labels. It became a 'Northern Soul' and 'Carolina Beach Music' favourite. The flip is a deep soul ballad titled 'I Can't Understand'.
The catalog number is 660R-7257. Stamper numbers are RK4M-7257 and RK4M-7258. Published by B&B Publishing Co.
Condition of record is a real nice EX++ or even NM, with all original gloss and just a few very small and light surface marks, which cannot be felt and do not affect play in any way. The record plays very nicely with no surface noise. As shown in the image, labels have a hardly any contact wear, with no writing, tears, stickers, or any other problems.
A nice piece of Soul history, which hasn't been offered on eBay, neither at auction nor at fixed price sale, for quite a while. A super-rare addition to any Soul record collection!
