ARTHUR RUSSELL LP "EXPERIMENTS" 1974 - Vol. 2 (Another Side Records/Les Disques Du Crepuscule SIDE 8401) Released 1984.
Part 1 recorded April 27, 1975 at The Kitchen alternative performance space in New York City. Part 2 recorded at Franklin St. Art Center on June 23rd, 1977. Part 3 recorded May 10, 1978 at the Kitchen. Performing on this record are Arthur Russell on electric cello, David Van Tieghem, Rhys Chatham, Peter Gordon, Andy Paley, Ernie Brooks (from Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers), Jon Gibson, Jon Scholle, Glen Lomoro, Bill Ruyle, Pater Zummo, & Larry Saltzman. All pieces composed by Arthur Russell. Russell was born in 1951 & died in 1992. He was director of The Kitchen & co-founder of Sleeping Bag records. Russell collaborated with Philip Glas, Robert Wilson, Francois Kevorkian & David Byrne, among others. His rare accomplishment was to achieve great recognition for his work as both a modern experimental composer & a disco artist.
Also recommended to fans of unusual label designs. Pressed in Belgium but this is considered an American release. (Matrix #: "TW1 013A").
COVER - VERY GOOD
Cover is free of seam splits, creases, writing, puncture holes, cut-out marks, stickers, price tags & sun washout. There is slight water damage along seven inches of the bottom edge & five inches of the top edge. Fairly tolerable blemish. Spine print is fully readable. Label is perfect with no marks, writing, stickers, fading or cuts. Sharp print, rich color on label. Really sharp cut hole free of spindle scuffs.
