Description
The seventies were a period of intense creativity for the formulation of jazz-rock fusion. Groups like Return to Forever and Mahavishnu Orchestra were the most influential of them all, spurring on further development of the complex sounds that branched off of contemporary jazz while creating new inroads into the genre. The music spread quickly and groups were popping up all over the globe. “Arti & Mestieri” was one of those groups that embraced this new jazz formula. On their LP “Giro di Valzer Per Domani” they typified the seventies sound that was reverberating throughout the jazz fusion genre. Most of this recording is made up of instrumentals. There are a few songs with vocals in Italian, although the instrumentals are much more appreciated by this listener. This is a fine recording that will be greatly appreciated by anyone that has an interest in jazz-rock fusion.
