THE HOUND OF MUSIC Lp by GEORGES ARVANITAS. VERY RARE ORIGINAL FRENCH LIBRARY LP on PSI (PSI-X 20711), from 1978. TOP-NOTCH JAZZ SESSION featuring a quartet led by CULT MUSICIAN GEORGES ARVANITAS on piano and fender piano with Claude Guilhot on VIBES, Jacky Samson on BASS and Charles Saudrais on DRUMS. A really SOLID LISTEN from start to finish, with TIGHT GROUP PLAYING, KILLER SOLOS and lots of DOPE AND CLASSY MODAL GROOVES troughout. Dig the FRENETIC JAZZ GROOVE of “GDG Blues”, the DARK, MYSTERIOUS VIBRAPHONE AMBIENCE of “Gliding”, the KILLER MODAL WALTZ titled “Black and White” and the DOPE BASS SOLO in “Bassman”. Also check out the TENDER AND CLASSY “Alexis´s Ballade”, the RHYTHM AND BLUES SHAKER “Boogie Time” and the SOULFUL ELECTRIC PIANO LINES of “Misty Morning”. It is featured in JOHNNY TRUNK´s excellent book “THE MUSIC LIBRARY” (FUEL) on page 147. This album will appeal to RARE JAZZ HEADS, DJs, LIBRARY COLLECTORS or just plain FANS OF GOOD MUSIC, so do not miss. Vinyl is in EX condition (has a few paper scruffs and hairlines). I played this record in its entirety and it played great (check soundclip). There´s a Brull licensing sticker glued to the the label on both sides. Sleeve in VG+ condition (the FUNNY DOG COVER ART remains BOLD AND STRIKING. There is spine wear and edge wear. The bottom seam shows a 6,5 cm tear on the middle. There are two licensing stickers on the back cover. See picture).
