Description
This is a fantastic copy of a brilliant recording! Programme is as follows : Side 1, Band 1 : Suppe, overture of "Morning, Noon & Night"; Band 2 : Heuberger, overture of "Der Opernball"; Band 3 : Johann Strauss, 2nd, overture of "Die Fledermaus"; Side 2, Band 1 : Lehar, "Gold und Silber" - Waltz, Op. 75; Band 2 : Reznicek, overture of "Donna Diana"; Band 3 : Josef Strauss "Spharenklange" - Waltz, Op. 235; Band 4 : Johann Strauss, 1st "Radetzky March", Op. 228. I HAVE RARELY HEARD A MORE STARTLINGLY DYNAMIC RECORD IN ANY GENRE! Its not perfect though. There is a light tick (during a loud passage) at 5.25 of Band 3, Side 1, a very light tick during a quiet passage at 0.25 of Band 3, Side 2 then a medium tick at 5.30 followed by a light tick. There is minimal surface noise & static audible during play. The signal to noise ratio is EXCELLENT! The very loudest passages of Strauss' overture of "Die Fledermaus" sound marginally distorted to me but this could be down to the original recording. Visually, both sides appear in superb condition. The cover is in good shape but for some sticker residue in the bottom right hand corner of the front cover. There are many indentations on the clairfoil where someone has attempted to scrape away this sticker. There's also some tape residue running over the flipback & just onto the back cover itself. The clairfoil is just beginning to lift in a couple of places around the jacket opening & on the top lefthand side of the flipback. Includes original dust sleeve. Every Thursday over the coming weeks I will be listing more records. I have many highly sought after titles in excellent condition which I would like as many buyers out there to see. PLEASE SAVE ME TO YOUR "LIST OF SELLERS" & CHECK MY OTHER ITEMS! All records are vacuum cleaned & listened to once in their entirety on a Technics 1210 with a brand new Ortofon stylus. All records come in custom mailers with 2 stiffeners. Records are removed from sleeves before posting & will come in a brand new dust sleeve. Where possible I will attempt to include the original dust sleeve. Records & sleeves will also be protected by a polythene sleeve I'll include as part of the sale. I will only send via either 'second class recorded delivery' within the UK or 'international signed for' (which includes £41 insurance) for other customers.
