1 GENERAL APPEARANCE OF PLAYING SURFACES

Tiny scratch at start of side 1, see listening notes.
Broad scuffs at 10 o´clock side 2 running towards centre of disc, non sounding.
Some hairline marks and scuffs both sides.

2 CONDITION OF LABELS

Labels fine, a few spindle marks both sides.

3 COVER

Cover very nice. Stiff and glossy. Laminate intact. Small dent and crease bottom right and a 1cm split at the bottom.
Back is clean, but a little yellow with age.

4 INNER SLEEVE

Original EMI inner sleeve.

5 LISTENING NOTES

This was voted one of the top 100 recordings of all time in the Gramophone article of 2008.


Side 1
Florida Suite
Five moderately loud pops about a minute into the first movement, caused by the scratch referred to above.
A little soft background crackle here and there in the quietest moments, but mostly very fine.
Lovely quiet surfaces.
I grade this side EX-

Side 2
Some light clicks and ticks at the start of the finale lasting about forty seconds, and a few clicks and pops in the quieter central section.
Dance Rhapsody No.2
Nothing to report apart from some very light background crackle in the quietest moments.
This is a lovely piece with all the usual Delius touches. Couldn´t have been written by anyone else.
Over the Hills and Far Away
Five soft pops about six minutes in, and a little very soft crackle here and there, but mostly very fine.
Because of the clicks at the start of the finale, I grade this side EX-

Some information about my business

RECORD CLEANING AND ASSESSMENT
I clean all 12 inch vinyl records on the Audio Desk Systeme Gläss machine, at the longest setting. I then physically examine the record with a magnifying glass for any visible defects.
10 inch and 7 inch vinyl and all shellac records are hand cleaned in warm water with a non corrosive cleaning agent.
Every record is then played IN ITS ENTIRETY, no sampling or guess-work. When you buy a record from me, it will be exactly as described. You can be sure that every flaw or defect will have been heard and will be specifically mentioned in my review.
I attempt to give an honest grading, based on internationally accepted grading standards. I will also give an honest opinion as to the quality of the cover and inner sleeve if appropriate.
LISTENING NOTES
These are my personal opinions on the quality of the sound, the performance, and background information about the recording where possible. I hope you find my comments helpful.
PACKAGING AND DESPATCH
All records are carefully packaged in strong cardboard cruciform boxes with supporting inserts. I supply a fresh inner sleeve and the original where it exists. A small post-it note on the inner sleeve gives details of the date and reference number of my cleaning and assessment, should you want to come back to me for more information. I recommend that you take out shipping insurance for higher value records.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT MY RECORDS
I will be putting small amounts of records up for auction at regular intervals over the coming months. These records are my personal choices, and I have selected them for a number of reasons. The music itself, the quality of the performance, its rarity and desirability, or just because I find a particular record interesting or unusual.
