ASD 612 SCHOENBERG Suite For String Orchestra SEMI-CIRCLE 1st Lutyens Britten

Schoenberg, Suite for String Orchestra / Elisabeth Lutyens, Cantata, op.13 'o saisons, o chateaux!' (poem by Arthur Rimbaud) / Britten, Prelude and Fugue for eighteen part string orchestra, op.29.

Norman Del Mar conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Marilyn Tyler, soprano.

Music Today series, recorded under the auspices of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

Original UK pressed EMI HMV stereo LP, ASD 612.

Includes leaflet with analytical notes and documentation.

Early Nipper semi-circle pressing - the white/gold labels had ended when this was first issued.

Vinyl EX. Has had a few plays, but not excessively so. The surfaces are still glossy but display a few non-sounding scuff marks.

Playback is nice and clean on this one however. The LP is not groove damaged or distorted and displays no noticeable crackle, ticks or clicks.

The A side label has a smallish penned gift inscription.

Insert VG plus. Clean and tidy, no marks or annotations. Central seam split to one of the folds, but not in danger of separating here. Minor handling creasing.

Sleeve grades at least VG+. Has lost a little of the original sharpness and lustre but retains good square shape without excessive wear or tattiness. Minor handling half moons, darkened pinch line creases leading in from edge areas, and some overall age toning, mainly to matt rear panel. Entry side marginally knocked but not feathered. Edges and spine are sound.
