Another excellent one off album. Ashkan show on this album that it had the goods to be real contenders on the late 60's British heavy blues rock scene.
The star of the album is Bob Weston. His frenzied, heavy slashing style is all over this record and it's his playing that leaves the biggest impression. Along with a lock tight drums-bass rhythm section and an abrasive singer that fits, this is a kickin' band. From the bluesy riffage of "Going Home", the guitar slinging aggression of "Backlash Blues" and the long jam on "Darkness" this is a way above average album. The riff in "One of Us Two" is killer with a ripping slide guitar-staccato solo that would slay Clapton. The band lay back and show a bit of diversity on the more subdued "Stop (Wait and Listen)". Obviously I dig the album. It's a shame these guys couldn't hold together because they show great potential, enough in my mind to show that they could have been one of the heavyweights.
