An absolutely stunning mint promotional copy of the ASPHALT RIBBONS ‘The Orchard E.P.’ on In Tape Records.

 

The origins of TINDERSTICKS lay in Asphalt Ribbons, a Nottingham-based band that featured vocalist Stuart Staples, keyboardist David Boulter, and violinist Dickon Hinchcliffe. Later in 1992, these three members formed Tindersticks with guitarist Neil Fraser, bassist Mark Colwill, and drummer Al Macaulay.

 

’The Orchard E.P.’, released on Marc Riley’s In Tape Records in 1989, was Asphalt Ribbons first release. It is a fascinating insight into the early stirrings of the Tindersticks sound and the unique voice of Stuart Staples.

 

One of the most sought-after items for TINDERSTICKS collectors, this 12” single is in absolutely pristine condition, both record and sleeve, and still includes the original Asphalt Ribbons T-Shirt flyer.

 

The back cover is stamped with a tasteful ‘In Tape Promotion Copy Not For Sale’.
