ATLANTIC BRIDGE Atlantic Bridge (Dawn DNLS 3014) RARE UK 1st Pressing MINT-
Very RARE UK first (and only?) pressing of Atlantic Bridge`s eponymously-titled album, released on Dawn Records (1970).
Actually more of a jazz album than actually (jazz-)rock-oriented, "Atlantic Bridge" on the Dawn record label has nevertheless become a much sought-after collectors item in "progressive rock" circles. The only band I am vaguely reminded of whilst listening to this album (stunning audio, by the way) is Jon Hiseman`s Colosseum. 
Atlantic Bridge are far more acoustic-sounding than Colosseum however, and the playing is uniformly excellent, with Jim Philip excelling on saxophones. However, the album on the whole leans a bit too close to easy listening for my taste…but then I never had much of a liking for "Macarthur Park", anyway.
GRADING:
MINT- COVER with only lightest general wear. Please see photos for details.
- A few small creases and light yellowing to the edge of the spine.
- Superficial scuff across the width of the gatefold insert.
- Very minor scuffing to one corner (bottom left).
MINT- RECORD. Stunning overall condition for its age and for its rarity!
- A few light spindle lines on each record label.
- Visually near-perfect vinyl, except for a single, tiny scratchlet (2mm long; in "Macarthur Park"). Amazingly, this is completely inaudible!
- Impeccable audio reproduction throughout the record, with practically no background crackle even in quiet passages.
- Matrix stamps read "DNLS 3014 A-2" and "DNLS 3014 B-1", respectively. That probably still makes this issue of "Atlantic Bridge" a UK first pressing;    due to the scant number of copies initially sold, it is doubtful that second pressings were even made.
NOTE: This record comes from an extensive, single-owner collection of progressive and folk-rock records we recently acquired.  These records were all bought at the time of initial release (1960-1970). Most are original UK or US first pressings. Due to the  size of the collection, most of the records were played a few times only: They will be found to be in the appropriate condition.
