I have a fairly high minimum on this, I know. But I could sell this quite easily as seperate LPs if I split the set up. If there's no bids, I may rethink the auction.

This is a BOXSET collection released in 1986 by Atlantic Records. This is the original release, produced by Columbia House. This is a monster of an item, but I'll try to describe it as succinctly as possible.

Consists of 15 seperate records (12 albums, 3 of which are 2LP sets). Each comes in it's own LP cover with full artwork and liner notes. The 2LP sets are in gatefold covers. These LPs were also available seperately for individual sale at one time, but as a set they came in this custom big outer box.

All the greats who recorded for Atlantic are included, and since Atlantic controls the rights to this material, what you get is the complete history with all original versions and no later re-recordings. Each album is devoted to a different genre- this is an intelligent way of organizing this stuff- and each has lengthy liner notes giving the history of the genre by noted jazz writers (Hentoff, Keepnews, Blumenthal, Hadlock) as well as full info on each session/track.

CONDITION:
VINYL is new and mint- never opened or played. EACH LP IS SEALED IN IT'S OWN JACKET. All in original factory shrinkwrap, with breather holes. No torn shrinks.

BOX is still in its shrinkwrap. The end was opened to remove the LPs- I don't know why, since none of them were ever opened! White box has very minor wear in a couple spots under the shrink. No writing, stickers, tears, dents or dings. One corner appears to be partially split (not in the usual way, but from the pressure of the LPs pushing out against it) but only on the outer paper as far as I can tell, structurally that corner feels strong.

Shipping will be by US Postal Service at actual cost, plus $2 (within USA) to $2.50 (foreign) for handling. And if you pay by any method OTHER than Credit Card through Paypal, I'll waive this handling fee. (NON-Credit Card PayPal payments and Bidpay get the reduction also).
I recommend Priority but will do Surface if you want to take that risk.
After I get your address, I'll package this and email the rate. I expect it to be pretty damn heavy and larger than usual when safely boxed. I have no idea what it weighs right now (my postal scale doesn't go that high!)
