FULL DESCRIPTION TO FOLLOW!

On 14-Oct-10 at 19:54:39 AEDST, seller added the following information:

On offer here is an ULTRA RARE original issue of (JOHNNY REBB and) THE ATLANTICS “Come On“ 7” single, released on Sunshine Records.  The A-side is actually “You Tell Me Why“, a cover of the 1965 (minor) hit by US - San Francisco band, THE BEAU BRUMMELS.  However, it is the ORIGINAL b-side “Come On“ that could very well be the FINEST AUSSIE 1960’s GARAGE PUNK TRACK EVER COMMITTED TO VINYL!

Check out THE ATLANTICS 1967 ABC TV show performances of both songs on YouTube (below) – absolutely jaw dropping!

GRADING (also refer photos)

Record:

visual: FAIR : still retains some lustre despite NUMEROUS scuffs & scratches, which are superficial for the most part (heavier scratch across first half of “You Tell Me Why“).  A GAP-FILLER UNTIL A BETTER COPY TURNS UP – IMPOSSIBLY RARE IN ANY CONDITION - GOOD LUCK TRYING TO FIND ANOTHER!

audible: VG- : surface noise, crackle and occasional pops (light intermittent clicks across the first half of “You Tell Me Why“ as stylus passes over).  THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THIS 45 PLAYS THROUGH WITHOUT ANY JUMPS OR SKIPS.

labels: light spindle wear & moderate label wear, “You Tell Me Why“: half of a ‘star’ stamp; “Come On“: LARGE TEAR.  Please examine digital pics closely!
