Description

AUDIENCE - self titled

A superb, little played copy of this rare withdrawn 1969 UK 1st press rarity with super stereo sound quality throughout

Year/Label : 1969 UK POLYDOR Label number : 583065 Matrix numbers : 583065 A//1 420, 583065 B//1 420 Stampers :  1 1 3  /  1 1 2
Excellent pus (EX+) condition vinyl - completely flat, weighty and retaining a beautiful jet black lacquered sheen with earliest UK press "A//1 B//1" matrices. In normal daylight each side of the vinyl comes across as completely unmarked and even with close scrutiny under a bright light I am unable to identify even a wispy hairline or paper scuff - amazing! The only blemish is a 2cm mild serration manufacturing fault on the extreme circumference of the side A dead wax (and only visible from side A - see photo), which has no impact whatsoever on the outstanding stereo sound quality. If it were not for this trivial glitch I would grade the condition of the vinyl as "near mint".  The labels are in similarly excellent plus (EX+)/near mint condition - with very close inspection it is just possible to identify a single small and extremely faint spindle trail adjacent to the centre hole on the side 1 label and x2 equally small and faint spindle trails on the side 2 label, otherwise perfect!  Clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played and meticulously looked after.   Near mint (NM) condition non-laminated, thin cardboard sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges and corners (how rare is that for this LP?!), a rigid non-flattened spine with all spine text remaining perfectly intact,  perfectly defined unrubbed right angled corners, no cardboard creasing, firm opening edges with no fraying, no unwanted writing and all text and front-side "negative photo/art-work remaining vibrant, crisp, with perfect definition still and all wonderfully intact. The fragility of these rare thin cardboard and lightly textured UK 1st press outer sleeves cannot be overstated so to be in condition as truly impressive as this is indeed extremely rare (the fact that this is the withdrawn variant makes it even more rare!) and hard to believe that it is now 56 years of age.   Superb, near mint (NM) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, clicks or background crackle - wonderful tone and crystal clear stereo reproduction with brilliant hard-to-fault stereo sound quality throughout. Comes with excellent (EX) condition poly-lined plain white inner sleeve with no side splits, no tears or edge fraying, no obvious age discolouration, and barely any creasing.  Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.    Surely there cannot be many copies of this 1969 withdrawn UK 1st press prog gem rarity in better condition than this.
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £3.38 using Royal Mail tracked 48 (ebay "Simple Delivery");

for continental Europe £11 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £17 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
