LP-Title: Flamenco Fever

Original German Teldec pressing from 1978 on M&K Realtime Records, RT-107, orginal deep grooved brown label. Limited Edition,”Live” Direct-To-Disc recording, 33 1/3 rpm. Performed by Felipe De La Rosa & his Famenco Group, recorded live at the Club “El Matador” in Los Angeles. You will hear flamenco-guitar, vocals, castanets, drums, foot-and-heel stomping and hand-clapping. The sound is so rich, direct and detailed that you will swear the performers are playing, singing and dancing right in your own living-room. Considered by most high-end afficionados to be one of the best audiophile recordings and pressings ever made, appears on the TAS- and other reference-lists. M&K have been selling their stock-copies some years ago on Ebay, but now the record is getting much rarer and it shows up just a few times every year. Essential and highly recommended, one of the few “ holy grails ” of audiophile recordings, productions and pressings.

Pl. look: I offer 3 more M & K Realtime LPs in my current auctions ( “FATHA” HINES, HOT STIX & MAGNIFICENT BASSO ).

Tracks: side 1: Alquien Canto - Danza Mora - Farruca side 2: Llorona - Soleares - Hands and Feet – Guajiras

Condition: the album has many quieter parts and it’s hard to find a copy playing in mint- all of the time, even if it looks mint-. I have listened very carefully to the whole album from the beginning to the end, both on my Rega Planar 9 w. EINSTEIN mc cartridge and also on my LINN Axis w. DENON mc cartridge. Here is my detailed & honest description:

Side 1 looks mint- to mint--, it plays in mint- all of the time.

Side 2 looks and plays basically the same, but with one exception: 3 of the 4 tracks look mint- to mint-- and they play in mint- all of the time, just one track looks m- to ex+ under a strong light. Only when you play this one track really really loud the playback of the solo-guitar is in ex in parts of this track. As I said, the rest of side 2 plays completely in mint-.

The cover has intact seams/spine, both seams have only a few tiny spots with rub, the spine has little rub and slight creasing on one corner ( please look at the 2 pictures of the lettering on the spine ) , there's moderate corner-wear, front & back are fine with just slightest wear/creasing. I think an overall cover-grading as “ex to ex-” is justified for the cover.

Grading & Cleaning:

  • the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

  • after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

  • I also visually graded the record under a strong light

  • only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg.

  • cleaned records are stored in a new deluxe innersleeve and they are placed in a new PVC protection-sleeve !
