LP-Title: Amina Claudine Myers Salutes Bessie Smith

Original stereo pressing from 1980 on the tiny UK-label LEO RECORDS, LR 103. Recorded & mixed at Big Apple Studio, New York, 19 & 22 June, 1980. This is the highly sought after UK-issue, although the country of origin is not stated on the cover of the record : the US-issue has a slightly thicker cover and has “Printed and Manufactured in USA” written on the back.

A true audiophile masterpiece with incredible sonics and soundstage. Beautiful vocals and unique tracks. Hard to find and highly recommended !

Condition: side 1 looks and plays in mint-; side 2 looks mint- but has a little crackling in the beginning in the dead wax and during the first seconds of the first track, the remainig 99 % of this side play in mint- all of the time. The sensitive cover is in ex--; it shows moderate shelfwear, front and back are fine with just a few minor blemishes, both seams are intact with slightest rub, the spine shows no rub but has a little bump in the upper third.

Grading & Cleaning:

• the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

• after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

• I also visually graded the record under a strong light

• only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg.

• cleaned records are stored in a new deluxe innersleeve and they are placed in a new PVC protection-sleeve !
