LP-Title: Bartók/Miraculous Mandarin – Solti/LSO

DECCA SXL 6111, audiophile edition of the 1964 recording. Tracks: The Miraculous Mandarin Suite Opus 19 – Music for Strings, Percussion & Celesta. Georg Solti conducting the London Symphony Orchestra.

The DECCA-Silverband-Reissues have been initiated in the mid-90ies by 20 German high-end studios/shops, they are hard to find and have an outstanding quality. Cut from the original, analogue masters of the recording session. Tony Hawkins (who is the cutter and assistant of the rewarded recording–engineer Kenneth Wilkinson) created the laquers at the Decca-home in London on the Neumann VMS 80 cutting-machine. Galvinization/plating and pressing were made in Germany. Of each matrix only 1000 copies have been made, the whole edition was limited. 180 gram virgin vinyl. Sleeve and label are exact replicas of the original ones. Record is stored in a deluxe-innersleeve wich has infos and advertising of the 20 high-end studios printed on it. Has been distributed by Speakers Corner and is nowadays deleted. I offer more releases of this rare editions in my current auctions. Supreme high-end quality !

Condition: the first track of side 2 has 2 small scratches, only a few mm short, they cause 3 times ca. 3 – 4 tics in a row during this quiet intro. The rest of side 2 and the complete side 1 look & play in mint-. The sensitive white cover shows just a hint of slightest shelfwear, seams/spine are intact, overall mint--. The OIS is in mint-.

Zustand: Seite 2 hat im ersten Stück, einem leisen intro, 2 kleine Schrammen, nur einige mm lang, diese verursachen an 3 Stellen 3 bis 4 tics hintereinander. Der Rest von Seite 2 und die komplette Seite 1 sind optisch & akkustisch in mint-. Das empfindliche weisse Cover hat nur ganz leichte Lagerspuren, mint--. Die bedruckte Original-Innenhülle ist in mint-. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Außen- & Innenhülle !

Grading & Cleaning:

• the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

• after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

• I also visually graded the record under a strong light

• only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg.

• cleaned records are stored in a new deluxe innersleeve and they are placed in a new PVC protection-sleeve !
