Specifics on this Item: For sale a NEW UNPLAYED 1978 copy of M & K 45 rpm Direct to Disc of Ed Graham "Hot Stix" recoding personally given to the hubby at CES by Steve McCormack who engineered this album. Unity Audio showed at CES with the Mod Squad which Steve owned. Never seen a turntable. How do I know it was never played? The hubby NEVER plays 45 rpm records. Why? AAHHH...he has a specific way he listens. First he turns on the turntable about 5 minutes before playing a record to let the "TT come up to speed and stabilize" and he does not turn it off while changing records. It has a vacuum platter so he just turns the platter on and off to change records. The seals keep the records from scratching against the platter. He would have to wait if he changed speeds to 45 so he just never plays them (Pray for me...). We will be listing other 45 rpm records so please check our other auctions. This is a hand delivered first Edition and is perfect! RARE!
General: I am helping my husband (unityaudiobob) (1200+) sell off some of his records. Either we sell some or he has to buy me a bigger house. For years he owned Unity Audio and now owns Cerious Technologies. Unity showed at 24 straight CES shows and it was routine for record companies to give him records for demo material.
If played then on what? Micro Seiki 1500 FVG turntable, Fidelity Research arm and Lyra Etna cartridge. Yah...not going to hurt the record. He also has a Keith Monks cleaning machine that he HAS TO CLEAN EVERY TIME HE PLAYS something! My pain is your pleasure. Keeps everything perfect. Google it to find out more about the album. I am not being lazy asking you to Google it rather than trying to list everything about it. Googling it will bring up so much information and often even samples of the music so you can get a good idea of what it is like. This is old enough it could have been played on a Micro Seiki 5000, Micro MD-282 Tonearm and Fidelity Research 202 cartridge. Yah this was the Hubby's "old" turntable...Don't have any idea what any of this is but he acts like I am supposed to be impressed so...I will humor him...OOOOOHHHH COOOLLL!!!!!
