This is a London (US) blue back (cover) pressing of
the Vienna Octet playing W. Amadeus Mozart: Divertimento No. 1 In E Flat Major, (K. 113)
and members of the Quintet play Ludwig Van Beethoven Quintet in E Flat Major, (Opus 16)

The album was manufactured for sale in the US by Decca, and the cover printed in the United States.

Musicians playing on this release are: Walter Panhoffer, Manfred Kautsky, Alfred Boskovsky, Rudolf Hanzl, Joseph Veleba, Otto Nitch, Willi Boskovsky, Phillip Matheis, Gunter Breitenbach, Johann Krump, Nikolaus Hubner.

The London records label, is actually a Decca record, they where pressed on the same plant in England,but covers where made in the USA.
The reason for this, is that another record company in the USA already had the rights for use of the Decca name, the gold-Decca label DL 7100 etc., so Decca England had to change the name to London to be able to sell records in the usa.
The Londons are the bargain-records if you want some of the great performances with conductor Ernest Ansermet and La orchestra Suisse Romande, Artulio Argenta, Ricci and many others on Deccas which cost a fortune to buy.
Many collectors will say or claim that Deccas always sound better then the London counterpart, I find this not to be true, by having compared the two labels on many occasions, both of my own collection and those that my friends have.
The records shown are true audio legends and memorable performances in music history, and will give you goosebumps when you listen to the music on these records.
Clarity, warmth, dynamics are keywords for these records
Cover art on these records are also truely nice with bold colors and imagnitive themes.
All London bluebacks are very collectable records, and i buy what i can get my hands on.

London vs Decca remains one of the true enigmas of the audiophile-collector community! Something I've wondered - Can't the grooves themselves be analyzed to either be different or the same? Don't the stampers indicate differences in the pressings? I have auditioned near-mint copies of one vs the other and I can't discern any audible differences. What are your thoughts - observations ???

there is no difference, the stampers are the same, it is a myth created by greedy dealers, trying to make money on Decca records, i have a/b compared CS/SXL against each other and there is no difference except in condition, so buy London blueback without question, they sound great all of them, if they are in top condition.

The record and cover are both in VG++ to NM condition, although the label spindle hole reveals that the lp has been played a few times.
