Look for an outstanding offering of rare Audiophile Label recordings
I am selling my Audiophile collection. I am the original retail purchaser for some of these Lps due to warehouse finds over the decades. Sometimes there was no jacket for the unplayed Lp. Other discs were picked up at retail. I will include my listening notes from the 1990s where available, not necessarily for the exact Lp offered here.
Listening notes (for Black vinyl Texas pressing): "One of the records in greatest demand, due to its mention in all the audiophile publications. The famous original thunderstorm blockbuster, with a lightning crack that will have you jumping. Side 2 features a rotary saw, nail-driving hammer, water in a bucket, drums and a music box. All the tracks are so realistic, you can actually fool people into thinking they are real."
Audiophile records started in Saukville, WI and later moved to Mequon, WI. Afterwards the company shifted to the Jim Cullum (Sr.) Band's stomping grounds in San Antonio, TX. The earliest discs were 78rpm red LPs playable on a modern turntable. Eventually Ewing Nunn embraced 33 rpm, Stereo and black vinyl. Many LP #s from the mid AP-50s on exist in mono and stereo, and in red or black vinyl. Sometimes extra stock of earlier Lps found their way into later jackets. Any LP pressed in Wisconsin or Texas is likely to be an amazing example of the art of recording.
Note that any Audiophile records offered for sale with a stylized "A" Lp label logo that looks like a triangle were pressed much later (by a successor company in Decatur, GA) and do not measure up to the originals. Occasionally you can find a fine Texas pressing in a newer Georgia jacket as they used up remaining stock.
All records are carefully shipped in new 200# test LP mailers to ensure their safety. This provides exceptional protection (please see my feedback).
