Description
WHAT A COLLECTORS ITEM!!! AUTHENTIC & ORIGINAL 78 RPM Record by Elvis Presley with Scotty and Bill performing "Mystery Train" and "I Forgot To Remember To Forget" on the SUN Records Label 223!!! This is one of the RAREST LEGENDARY Elvis records on the SUN Label just prior the famous RCA Victor hits!!! SUN was a small label, based in Memphis,Tennessee and only sold limited numbers. Sam Phillips was the owner of SUN Records and launched the careers of many artists including that of Elvis Presley. Sam Phillips was born in Florence, Alabama, just a few miles from where I was born and still live. This 78 plays well. "Mystery Train" is a song written by Junior Parker and Sam Phillips. It was first recorded in Phillip's Memphis Recording Service and Sun Records at 706 Union Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee in 1953. Raymond Hill and Matt Murphy were in the backing band with Bill Johnson on piano, Pat Hare on guitar, and John Bowers on drums. See this link for a little history on the career of Elvis and Sam. http://www.history-of-rock.com/sam_phillips_sun_records.htm The record has some scuffs and light scratches but plays exceptionally well. No skips on either side. Normal background sound for a studio record. Starting bid is $9.99. This was my Mom's record. GUARANTEED Authentic & Original! Look at my other rare 78 records auctions as I have time to list.
