PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Probably more rare than the $$$ valued (1970) first issue came this (laminated) BRITISH micro-pressing of just 600 copies numbered (#519) issued literally 30+ years ago and guaranteed a long extinct issue to the point of being 'forgotten' about... the sound quality rivals the first press, it's stunning with wide range depth and clarity ...
Arguably Pete Brown's best work of his entire early '70's career, this is extraordinarily great progressive rock, with a fairly hard direction while featuring beautiful memorable song stylings, enhanced with wah-wah guitar, wah-wah organ!, reeds, and great song writing. A radical change from the looseness of The Battered Ornaments. Piblokto plays it super-tight and focused all the way. The album sets off with the extreme up-tempo title track, driven along by Jim Mullen's power chords in a manner that only gets better and better with each spin of the platter! Pete Brown himself is in great voice. He always was an aquirred taste, in fact he has never been a singer at all, but he has a very personal voice, and a way of making lines stick with the listener that is purely his own. He certainly makes it may happen inside a song too, like on “Firesong”, which goes from a dark organ mood in Velvet Underground vein, to a psych folk with strummed acoustic guitar and eastern sounding soprano fills;Pete Brown will deliver a Ginger Baker type rap over a Cream jam vibe with wah organ on “Things may Come…” or an emotionally charged singing over a jazzy groove like on “Country Morning”. All tracks are completely catchy and rewarding. As well, Jim Mullen’s guitar is all over the place, sawing frenetically (“Walk for…”) or with caressing bends (“Country Morning”).
Roger Bunn’s bass may be distorted like on “Then I Must go…” or insidious like on “My Love’s Gone…”; Rob Tait’s drumming be it hi-hat bashing, swinging cymbals, African tom-tom rolls or whatever is very inventive; Dave Thompson’s goes from shreiking sax squalls or emotional scales and fills to organ or mellotron landscapes;
And Pete Brown will give the extra coloured touches with bird like whistles or arguing on his talking drum.
Most mind etching tracks: "High Flying Electric Bird", "Golden Country Kingdom" - and the gentle "Country Morning" with its astonishing simple main riff - in 11/8 time... It has to hurt to be dumped from the band you lead, but that's what happened to Pete Brown with the Battered Ornaments -- and to add insult to injury, right on the eve of a prestigious support slot opening for the Rolling Stones at London's Hyde Park in 1969. But Brown, already an acclaimed poet who'd penned many of the lyrics for Cream, dusted himself off and founded Piblokto!. This, their first album, is an all time gem, and can't come any more recommended! Things May Come & Things May Go ... 5:03

CONDITION: The cover: The fragile UK lamiknated cover is near "EX" (excellent) it's over 30+ years old guaranteed! Handled relatively carefully should well fit into any deserving collection, having no alarming problems outside of lightly used but not anywhere near close to abused... no split seams, no writing, etc....
The vinyl: very clean...plays M- and clear with wide range depth and utmost quality ... then has also clean UK "GI" labels ...
