Highly touted in the pages of TAS, PERCUSSION MUSIC from Nonesuch is one of those albums you can play for a person who doesn’t know high fidelity and have them gawking with disbelief.

Trust me when I say, this album is a wrecking ball of percussion, that can easily re-arrange your listening room furniture at the right volume. The works by Colgrass, Varese, Cowell, Saperstein, and Oak are simply mesmerizing, played especially well by Raymond DesRoches and his expert New Jersey Percussion Ensemble.

Do watch your volume, as this LP can easily clip your amps and toast tweeters in the process.

Jacket is fine, without major fault. Inside, is the original Nonesuch platter, an RL Sterling master, that will play near mint.

Not to be missed. One of the very finest Nonesuch releases, and a fabulous demonstration LP. (WARNING: Before listening, put the dog out and the cat upstairs.)
