We are offering a fantastic array of Ethiopian funk/jazz/folk/psych records from 60s and 70s this month! Make sure to see all our Ethiopian listings! On the other hand, on one of our record hunts we stumbled upon this amazing 45 which is an incredibly pleasant surprise. This is the second time I'm seeing a Sudanese record (in a "crossover" concept) and the very first time that I am actually finding and laying my hands on one myself! This is by an artist called Mohammed Wardi and he performs one song cut in two parts for the two sides of the disc. The rhythm part is of that killer great multi-cultural school of beats which is an amalgam of East African, Arabic and even a bit of Indian influences. Instruments are mainly local with a few electric ones most definitely done in the vein of ethnic funky discs from Ethiopia of its time! Just amazing. Disc is G+.
