Description

This is part of a big auction of mainly Specialty Records 7" 45's. Specialty recorded many great artists in the blues, R&B & gospel genres among others. All of those will be represented. There will also be a nice selection of rare bonus listings.

Release: Earl King (ft. Fats on Piano) - Baby You Can Get Your Gun / Those Lonely Lonely Nights

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1955


Notes: Yellow label first pressing. Early single by King and quite influential on later swamp pop artists. Piano is by Huey Smith. Great guitar on the A-side in a distinctly Louisiana flavored R&B track.  This one was a bit of a regional hit. The B-side is more of a bluesy ballad, also very good with a nice guitar interlude.


Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is in great shape with hardly any wear at all, just a couple of tiny surface scuffs. Looks very clean and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, plays with hardly any background noise at all.  Labels are nice with original gloss & no tearing/stickers, but there is some light ring scuffing. This is a nice copy overall.
