Acetate – Earl McDaniel Radio Spot 45rpm
Earl McDaniel (1928-2014) American Disc Jockey
Was one of the most influential radio DJ'S of the 1950's
and 1960's Rock 'n Roll era! He presented Elvis
with his first gold record in Las Vegas in 1956 for
“Heartbreak Hotel” He was band manger for “The Champs”
Introduced “The Chipmunk Song” for which he lost his
job – but was rehired after thousands of people bought
the record! Worked with Hunter Hancock and Art Laboe,
Robert W. Morgan and The Real Don Steele!
This radio spot was for the Hottest Show In Town
at the United Artists Theaters located at 9th and Broadway
in Los Angeles for a program that ran from August 20th
thru labor day, and featured LaVern Baker, Frankie Lymon,
Richard Berry, Young Jessie, Don & Dewey to name a few.
The flip side of this 45rpm acetate features the famous
outtakes for the film “The Caddy” 1953 with Dean Martin
and Jerry Lewis doing radio commercials! It's recorded
at 33rpm and has the complete famous recording with
all of the vulgarities! “That's riotous you grease ball”
“Five F----king lines we can't get through it!” etc.
Cool collectors item on this 8-inch Capitol Records brand
acetate.

With a plus or minus depending on variables such as how much groove luster remains, sound quality, wear and
abuse. 78rpm records can look bad but sound great! They stand up to abuse much better than LP's or 45's!
