· Actress, aka Darren Cunningham, returns with ‘Ghettoville’, preceded only by
a static-ridden transmission: “‘Ghettoville’ is the bleached out and black
tinted conclusion of the Actress image… R.I.P Music 2014. Actress”
· ‘Ghettoville’ is the spiritual sequel to 2008’s ‘Hazyville’, originally released on
Actress’s own Werkdiscs label. Chronologically, this follows 2010’s ‘Splazsh’
and 2012’s ‘R.I.P.’ which were both released to critical acclaim on Damon
Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz)’s Honest Jon’s label.
· Actress’s debut album ‘Hazyville’ will be remastered and released for the first
time on white vinyl (with artwork etching on side F) as part of a beautifully
crafted ‘Elephant’-skinned box set edition of ‘Ghettoville’, which comes
complete with a 40 page artbook, the vinyl format of ‘Ghettoville’, and CD
versions of both releases.
