Incredibly rare original UK pressing of Agnelle Bundervoet's amazing interpretation of J.S. Bach. On Side 1, the French pianist interprets the Busoni transcriptions of Bach's chorale cantata "Wachet Auf" and his "Chaconne" from partita No. 2 in D minor for solo violin. Side 2 finds Bundervoet playing two Bach Toccatas (BWV 914 & 912). These electrifying and original interpretations of Bach's work are some of the best recordings of solo piano ever recorded and still have yet to find a proper reissue.
Absolute 1st Press Original MONO UK Pressing: ~Un-laminated 'Printed in England' sleeve~ ~Red labels with silver text~ ~'Made in England' and '33 1/3' at 12 o'clock on labels~ ~Incredibly heavyweight vinyl~ ~-2B/-1B suffixes-- possibly the earliest matrix identifiers~ ~N U 1/N U 1 mothers & stampers -- another indication of an early pressing~
Condition Cover: VG++. Slight shelf wear only. Hardly-noticeable 1" split at bottom center of sleeve. Maybe one of the best Bundervoet covers out there! Labels: VG++. A few slight spindle marks only. Vinyl: Side 1: VG. Vinyl shows small feelable scratches and a few superficial marks. Plays with surface noise through most of the first band, but parts of the "Chaconne" play closer to VG+ on my system. Side 2: VG-. A few large, but not feelable, scratches through most of the Side. A few smaller marks also present. Consistent light surface noise. Like Side 1, the sound quality improves on the second band.
