Description

  • Near mint New Jazz deep groove purple label monaural original LP “The Music Of Ahmed Abdul-Malik” (New jazz NJ 8266, textured cover) engineered by Rudy Van Gelder (RVG in dead wax).
  • The musicians on this 1961 recording are: Ahmed Abdul-Malik (bass & oud), Calo Scott (cello), Tommy Turpentine (trumpet), Eric Dixon (tenor sax), Bilal Abdurrahmen (clarinet & percussion) and Andrew Cyrille (drums).
  • The tracklist is: Nights On Saturn/The Hustlers/Oud Blues/La Ibkey/Don’t Blame Me/Hannibal’s Carnivals.
  • The glossy LP plays near mint. There are a couple of light scratches on side 1 that play through with no audible notice, otherwise the LP looks and plays near mint. The textured cover is near mint with no splits, writing or cutouts and just a tiny tear on the top seam.
