Mint:  
     Vinyl:  Record is still sealed.

     Cover:  All 4 Corners are still pristine, there is no impression of record.

NM:  
     Vinyl:  There are no signs that the record has ever been played.

     Cover:  Corner Dings may be present but no white is showing. There may be an impression of a record.  Covers are free of
             creases, ring wear and seam splits of any kind.
   
VG+:  
     Vinyl:  Looks like the record has been very well taken care of.  There may be spindle marks on the label. There may be
                multiple scuff marks that don't affect playback.  Groove wear (a fuzzy sound) should NOT be noticeable.
                Any warping or an off centered hole should not affect playback.

     Cover:  VG+ covers should have only minor wear. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than one
             inch long). Also, a VG+ cover may have some defacing, such as a cut-out or yellowing or lite creases or lite ring
             wear.

VG:                     
     Vinyl:  If present, scratches on the album may be heard as a lite tic (you may be able to feel these with your fingernail).
               Groove wear (fuzzy sound) may be audibly noticeable.  Background noise may be more noticeable during soft passages. 
               Scuffs and small scratches may be present.  Still an enjoyable listen and very typical of used records.

     Cover:  VG covers will have many signs of human handling.  Ring wear in the middle or along the edges of  the cover where the
             edge of a record would reside, is obvious, though not overwhelming. Some more creases might be visible. Seam
             splitting will be more obvious; it may appear on all three sides, though it won't be obvious upon looking. Someone
             might have written or stamped a price tag on it, too.

G+:                     
     Vinyl:  Background noise will be more noticeable but any groove wear (a fuzzy sound) will still be lite.  Music is still very
             enjoyable.

     Cover:  As above but with more wear.  Small writing, clear tape, stains may be present.

G:                       
     Vinyl:  Groove wear will be obvious to the point that the music (usually the vocals) will be less enjoyable.  Warps will
             start to be heard.  Tics are now moderate to heavy, maybe even a lite skip.

     Cover:  Total seam splits may be present.  Tape, Lite Water damage, heavy writing may be present.

Fair:  
     Vinyl:  Repeats may be present.  Slight crack may be present.

     Cover:  Tears, Water damage, masking tape, Writing in Magic Marker may be present.

Poor:        
     Vinyl:  Record is somewhat playable to unplayable. 

     Cover:  Only part of the cover may be present.


What is a Scuff Mark?:  The mark does not break through the edges of the groove, thus no noise is produced when the stylus passes over the Mark.
