Albeniz complete Iberia, Navarra and Cantos De Espana all for solo piano from from Alicia de Larrocha. She is considered his definitive interpeter.
Decca (as London when overseas) 2LP Japan Press =SXL 6586/7, so the all analogue 1972 account. I have this and her later digital account, and have no favourite, I like bits of both for different reasons, and they are not night and day different to my ears either.
New Old Stock just play graded in a few places to check by me. Flat not off centre, no splits, creases dirt or pen anywhere and sounding near mint and fabulous!. Japanese fully analogue Pressing from 1980 ish. Audiophile previously unplayed Japan Press with Near Mint surfaces, label and playback. Sleeve is Excellent, light age spotting to rear only. Definitive performance from this great Spanish repertoire interpreter, with the sound regarded as wonderfully natural. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water. This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
