Up for auction is a very rare 1930s 10” 78 rpm shellac record with recordings of Alexander Vertinsky with piano accompaniment:
side A: ??????? ???? (Liljowy Negr) composed by A. Vertinsky
side B: ??????? ???????? (Koncert Sarasat’ego) composed by A. Vertinsky
Released in Poland on ODEON catalogue number O. 253365.
Visual: slight dulling of the surface with some visible, thin scratches and general handling marks.
Playback: plays through fine, the music sounds loud and clear, there is some noticeable, even background surface noise with some crackle but it is still very good for a pre-war 78. According to VJM scale, I would give it a V+ grade.
Both sides of the record were played through on a vintage 1950s Garrard record player.
The record comes in a new, plain brown cardboard sleeve WITH the original pre-war Odeon sleeve in poor condition.
