Description

New and sealed reissue of Along Came A Spider - Vinyl (gatefold 180 gram vinyl 2xLP) Detroit shock-rock architect Alice Cooper returned in 2008 with Along Came A Spider, his 18th solo album and a late-period concept record threading back to the narrative world of Welcome To My Nightmare. Reissued on double vinyl, it lands in the quarter between Dirty Diamonds and 2011's sequel, pairing close collaborators Greg Hampton and Danny Saber for a slick, modernised, mesmerised hard rock frame. The storyline follows 'Spider', a serial killer collecting limbs for a grotesque construction; Cooper brings 70s-era illusionist-horror motifs to 'Vengeance Is Mine' (with Slash) and 'Wake The Dead' (backed by Ozzy Osbourne), while 'Wrapped In Silk' and 'I Am The Spider' push the arc on toward its reveal, tying the character back to Cooper's long-running, macabre 'Steven' persona.
