Description
Welcome...This is a very rare and hard to find copy of Alice Cooper's second album "Easy Action" released on the Straight/WB label in 1970...Catalog number WS 1845.
This is an original first pressing from 1970 with the pink "Straight" labels.
Better yet, it has the rare 1st issue cover that has the group's name shown in red and black lettering! This cover is rarer than the white label promo of the same title.
The record company decided that if they highlight the band's name in white, it would stand out better. All subsequent covers have white and black lettering. Very few of these covers exist.
My guess is less than 2500 copies nationwide.
The cover grades VG+ condition with strong seams and a solid spine! There is some color loss around the edges, a few light scrapes, a crease on the bottom left corner and some light ring wear.
This vivid red cover is very prone to wear but this one looks far better than most after 47 years. The inside of the gatefold is VG++ showing one, thin factory wrinkle in the paper on Mike Bruce's photo. The original paper inner sleeve is included and it's in VG+ condition.
The record has been play graded and is in VG+ to VG++ condition having some very light surface noise between tracks. Very listenable with great channel separation.
A truly great Cooper album by the way!
