Description
Sometimes a thumb is just a thumb, but Alice Cooper's on the original pressing of "Love it to Death" resulted in Straight Records, a WB subsidiary, airbrushing it from subsequent releases.
So, this is a funny one. If you look at my other listings, they're mostly unplayed promos in stellar condition from my personal collection. This album originally belonged to an upstate NY radio station and the jacket and vinyl are completely at odds with each other. The vinyl -- see photos #5-7 -- looks good, with a few light scratches that I was barely able to capture, indicating that it was played, but probably not a lot. (Please note that I have not listened to it -- no turntable.) 1A & 1B are etched into the run-off.
The jacket, well, it's been around the block or, more accurately, the dj's booth, and I've wondered about the disparity. My best guess is that a busy music director just slipped a new disc inside the old jacket. This is not a perfect theory. The gatefold and white b.g. back cover are remarkably clean given the age of the album. However the bottom jacket seam is split -- photo #8 -- as are parts of the original Straight Records dust jacket although not so much that it can't do its job.
The other difference between this listing and my others is that, having no idea what to ask for, I will let the free market determine its value and will be satisfied with whatever it brings. Ships to US address only via Fed Ex.
