Record is brand new and has never been played.

This 12-song, 2LP-set from Let Them Eat Vinyl captures the original Allman Brothers Band live in front of an intimate audience on August 26, 1971 at A&R Studios in New York, a month removed from their legendary dates at Fillmore East. Simultaneously broadcast by local radio station WPLJ-FM, featured here are Duane Allman (guitar/slide guitar), Greg Allman (organ/vocals), Dickey Betts (guitar/vocals), Berry Oakley (bass), Butch Trucks (drums) and Jaimoe (drums), in top form tearing through a stunning set that includes the all-time classics "Statesboro Blues," "Trouble No More," "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" and "Hot 'Lanta" among others. Unfortunately the recording is also the band's last to feature guitar hero Duane Allman whose tragic death in a motorcycle accident occurred just two months later.
