The Allman Brothers Band Idlewild South Original U.K. Polydor Manufactured ATCO 2400 032. Brilliant second album from the Allmans which really had them at the top of their game with a superb selection of songs with only one non-original Willie Dixon's " Hoochie Coochie man ", which they take to another level with their scorching guitar sound , In fact the whole album Is so powerful It Just makes you realise how great the loss of Duane Allman really was . A favourite track for me Is the awesome Instrumental " In memory of Elizabeth Reed " which Is so passionate and exciting you Just want to keep playing It over and over again , the sound reproduction on this Polydor / Atco pressing Is truly magnificent and definitely the best way to hear this landmark album. Other Tracks / revival , don't keep me wonderin' , midnight rider , please call home , leave my blues at home . Duane Allman - lead guitar , acoustic & slide guitar / Dicky Betts -lead guitar / Greg Allman -organ , piano & vocals / Berry Oakley - bass & vocals / Butch Trucks / drums & tympani / Jai Johanny Johanson -drums , congas , timbales & percussion / Thom Doucette - harmonica & percussion . Record In beautiful ' as new ' mint condition . sleeve Ex ( slight wear to the top & bottom seams which Is almost Impossible to avoid on this very fragile non laminated sleeve ) .as with most of the mint/ near mint records I am selling at the moment there are no ( or next to no ) spindle marks . any potential bidder with a 2 or less feedback rating please contact me before bidding.
