Description
Rare complete set of the Time Life "Great Men of Music" series in good condition. All 30 composers are included, each represented by a box set of 4 LP discs and a comprehensive booklet. Production was in the 1970s and this is from a one owner collection. I have ever seen the full set before. Mostly in good to very good condition with some specific remarks below.
Many boxes still have shrink wrap on the box, a few records remain sealed. Many inner sleeves and some of the box fronts have foxing (a mould affecting old paper). Some records are very clean. Many are dusty, but easily cleaned by brush. There's the occasional scratch and some paper remnants have become mouldy on some discs. I have inspected every disc to assess them, but I have not played them. I expect some surface noise but generally, as the discs are bright, a good listening experience.
There could be no better introduction available to classical music without spending a lot of time searching, and a small fortune to buy comparable recordings. Some of the recordings will be exemplary for anyone.
