Description
These two lps contain the complete work Ancora Da Capo performed Nov 15, 1980 in Leningrad by the Ganelin Trio, since disbanded. No titles or times on sleeves, no country of manufacture. Music is credited to Vyacheslav Ganelin who plays piano, electric guitar, percussion, and basset which I think is a small electric keyboard used for bass lines. He is aided by Vladimir Chekasin who plays saxes, flutes, clarinet, violin, percussion, and basset-horn. Also Vladimir Tarason who plays drums, percussion, small instruments, and talking drum. Leo Records LR 108 and LR 109. Pivotal recording from Russian jazz scene by group who were influential until Ganelin was permitted to emigrate to Israel. Passages of great beauty, some floating, some rage.
