Biete: Andrea Centazzo - UFIP EP - ORIENTAL FUNK DRUMS FREE JAZZ PERCUSSION. Cover, Vinyl: VG+++ ANDREA CENTAZZO PLAYS UFIP (SIX PERCUSSION IMPROVISATIONS) ... 7-inch, 33rpm EP single composed recorded mixed and transferred by ANDREA CENTAZZO. Original Italian private pressing, from 1975. Obscure, product placement item showcasing the new ICTUS 75 range of instruments by drum / cymbal maker, UFIP. A total of 6 different improvised themes played by the legendary free jazz / avantgarde drummer, experimenting with the creative potential of percussion instruments like the Sheng / Lokole / Ogororo / Ice Bells and Bell Tree. Centazzo was actually the product developement manager at UFIP and helped produce the Ictus 75 range with their craftsmen. Amazing percussion sounds with Centazzo also playing chinese cymbals / bongos / African drums / maracas / steel drums / tom-tom / tam-pangs etc alongside his studio drum-kit. Our soundclip opens with the killer oriental breaks groove CUT 2 (from side A) followed by a long sample of CUT 1 (from side B) with Centazzo singing and shouting over drum breaks, then samples from the rest of the EP. Recorded in Centazzo Studio, Moruzzo (Udine) Italy. The seldom seen, gatefold picture sleeve contains cool images of the new, Ictus 75 percussion range and of course the master drummer in his studio :) Next level item to be filed beside Tullio De Piscopo's Suonando La Batteria drum instruction Lp on Vedette label. Rare EP!!!
