150. VINTAGE 78 RPM RECORD ~ PERFECT 14940 IN ORIGINAL PERFECT PAPER SLEEVE
ARTIST/GROUP: Annette Hanshaw with Lou Gold and his Orchestra/Willard Robison and his Orchestra
TITLE(S): "After My Laughter Came Tears" / "My Blue Ridge Mountain Home"
DESCRIPTION: Jazz orchestras with vocals (Annette Hanshaw side A, Charlie Barnes side B)
GRADE: Very Good (V) but has hairline crack
CONDITION NOTES: Record labels are bright and readable with light visible scuffs, small scratches, are slightly dusty, light wear on edges, and a few small tears and small cracks under label on "After".
Record surfaces are glossy with light visible scuffs, small scratches, item is dusty (could use a gentle cleaning), and has a thin 1-1/2" hairline crack from outer edge - it is visible on both sides, a few light tics at beginnings of both sides, but otherwise does not sound. This item plays with good fidelity, lots of volume, and light surface noise.
The Perfect sleeve has many light creases, small folds, some small tears along top opening, and this item has browned somewhat due to age.
***No worries about packing…I pack for shipment like the pros - record secured between cardboard squares in large box with plenty of padding.

GRADING IS CONSERVATIVE USING THE VJM RECORD GRADING SYSTEM:
N (78). As new and unplayed (there are virtually no 78s that can categorically be claimed to be unplayed).
N- (78). Nearly Mint, but has been played. No visible signs of wear or damage.
E+ (78). Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets.
E (78). Still very shiny, near new looking, with no visible signs of wear, but a few inaudible scuffs and scratches.
E- (78). Still shiny but without the luster of a new record, a few light scratches and scuffs.
V+ (78). An average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced.
V (78). Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.
V- (78). Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy graying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.
G+ (78). Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Heavy scratches.
G (78). Quite seriously worn and scratched, but music level is still higher than surface noise.
