Originally released in 1971 On offer here without any reserve, is an original first Swedish pressing of Anni- Frid Lyngstad's very first solo album simply titled FRIDA. As any ABBA collector will know this is the rarest solo release.
The album features 11 songs, and was Produced by her partner Benny Andersson, and recorded at EMI studios in Stockholm. Amongst the 11 songs included on this stunning debut album are a beautiful rendition of Leonard Cohen's SUZANNE, plus her version of Paul Simon's SOUND OF SILENCE, alongside a couple of Lloyd- Webber tracks from their Jesus Christ superstar.
The thick emi vinyl visually, I would describe as fair to good. As it is quite worn and displays lots of scratches.
Audibly, I have played this and it plays through with some surface noise including pops and clicks, but it is free from any sticks or jumps etc. The labels are clean showing no graffiti or sticker residue etc, a very rare find for any ABBA collector. In fact this is one the rarest solo releases to be found, you will not find another copy listed anywhere on the net.
The laminated gatefold sleeve designed by Haak Muller with Photography by Ola Lager, is in excellent condition just showing the lightest of wear. No graffiti or sticker residue etc.
As a collector myself, I know how frustrating and disappointing it is to receive a tatty item which bears very little resemblance to the description given. I try hard to be as accurate as I can when grading, and use all sources available - including the 'Record Collector Grading System.
Nor will I neglect to mention glaringly obvious vandalism such as writing on the label or sleeve. Which amazingly have been omitted from a lot of descriptions to purchases I have unfortunately gone on to make!
