Faure: Requiem
(Decca SXL 2211 UK LP 1960)
This is an original ED1 UK Stereo pressing in very nice overall condition! It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has an extremely thin spine. The spine text is printed on the rear sleeve - directly next to the spine edge. The top & bottom flipback have a rounded die-cut centre area. There is an original printing date on the sleeve (J.P. 60.4). This means that this sleeve was originally printed in March 1960. This is printed on the bottom flipback.
It comes with its original polythene-lined generic "FFSS" Stereophonic company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has black & silver ED1 "wide band" Decca labels which are grooved also. They have the "Original Recordings By.." text on them. It has 1st press ZAL-2927-1M and ZAL-2928-1M matrix numbers.
This is a genuine UK original ED1 Stereo LP pressing. It has the earliest matrix numbers & the sleeve has a 1960 printing date on it. UK 1st pressings are not that common. I have some other rare UK Classical LP's for sale too. So please see my other listings. Don't miss out!
Sleeve: There is some mild or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light or very minor fading to the "white" of the rear sleeve. There is a very tiny 0.3 cm hairline tear at the centre area of the spine. This is not that noticeable. Otherwise, the spine edge is fine. There is a very small old UK record shop price sticker on the rear sleeve (see photo). This could be carefully removed if desired. There is light, mild or more moderate ringwear on some areas. Overall, Very Good+ condition.
Vinyl: There are a few light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. There is one very light 2 cm surface hairline rub mark on Side 1. This hardly notices under a strong light. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on a few areas. These, again, can hardly be seen under a strong light. Very NEAR EXCELLENT condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition & show minimal spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or more moderate ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety. Side 1 plays Very Near Excellent to Excellent overall, & Excellent+ in many places. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in a few places. Overall, a great audio copy!

MINT Condition = As good as a copy you would buy from a shop, immaculate!
NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. SOME WOULD CLASS THIS AS MINT. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect - very minimal wear only.
EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two light needle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under strong light. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with no distortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ringwear or edgewear.
NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only; that barely detract from the sound quality. Cover may have slight creasing or ringwear. A very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.
VG Condition = A well played but serviceable copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears. The record will not be trashed!!

Royal Mail have very recently increased their postage rates. So I have revised my postage costs to reflect their increases. (Please note that these prices include packaging costs too)

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7". I use a cruciform box for larger orders (4-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 2-3 days after payment.
I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).
I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50.
