Harry Smith's great 1952 bootleg of roots music in its 1967 LP reissue. 6 records in three boxes.
Vol. 1: Ballads Vol. 2: Social Music Vol. 3: Songs
Each box comes with the same liner notes.
These recordings sparked the American folk music boom and provided the tunes for the rise of bluegrass in the 1950s and 60s.
This set is the 1967 reissue of the same material as the original 1952 set.
Purchased at the end of the lp era (1988), these records have some sunning on the spines, but the boxes are are excellent condition and the lps have been rarely played. The boxes have been protected by a plastic outer sleeve for 30 years.
