Anthology of Central & South American Indian Music- compiled by Alan Lazar, released by the Ethnic Folkways Library (FE 4542) in 1975 out of New York City. White-label with black text. Includes the booklet of liner notes in very good condition.
*This is an absolutely exceptional field recording collection of indigenous music from Central & South America. The remarkable violin & harp music of these native peoples is heavily represented, and I think it is some of the most beautiful music you will ever hear! There are also a lot of really wild, native "fife-and-drum" styles, for lack of a better description, that are just marvelous. This is a very thorough, detailed & diverse collection. From Central America, the music of the Yacqui, Huichol, Cora, Tarascan, Mayan-Tzotzil, Mayan-Chol, Mayan-Ixil and Mayan-Chuj are represented. From the Amazons the music of the Kraho, Cayamura, Shipibo, Campa, Conibo, Jivaro and Yekuana are represented. There are also a wide-variety of ethnic groups from the Andes represented. This is just a wonderful, one-of-a-kind document, featuring some of the most unique most on Earth!*
The LP's are visually-graded in VG+ condition. When looked at under a very bright light, the records show a very rich luster and a few, incredibly light surface marks.
The Box Cover is graded in VG- condition, due to the four corners of the top box being split. The corners on the bottom box are not split. The also shows a considerable amount of edge & crease wear. Overall, it still looks nice.
Shipping is calculated by ebay at the actual cost for you, the consumer. I don't charge any extra fees for material or handling.
For combined shipping, please add $1 for each additional LP you purchase. If you buy many records from me, I can ship them all together in one box, and charge you the actual cost I pay at the post office. International customers, please keep in mind that once you reach 4 pounds (roughly 4 LPs+), 1st Class International is no longer a shipping option, and you must ship Priority or Express.
