Antique Records
Wow! This auction is for an extremely rare set of antique phonograph records that were pressed by the American Record Company back in the 1900-1910 range. The company was located in Springfield, Massachusetts and was managed by Hawthorne, Sheble & Prescott. Apparently, they were blacklisted from selling their records for Victor phonographs and were eventually taken to court and had to shut down their operation. They only operated for a short period and they're records are VERY hard to find. You get four here and the are all dark blue in color and have a neat Native American Indian on the center label. The records you get are 031154 – Let Me Go Back by Arthur Collins, 031042 – Bunker Hill by Arthur Collins, 030801 – A Virginia Christening, 031161 – If I Should duet by Nelson and Stanley. All the records are the 78RPM style and measure about 10-5/8" wide. They are in good, playable condition but there is some very minor scratching here and there and all of them have chipping along the extreme edge (not in the playing field). Great set!
