Petroselli, 1997) It is the only recording in the world in which all together the instruments of the famous Cremona Violins collection are "protagonists": the violin Stradivari the "Cremonese" (1715) played by Marco Fornaciari, the "Giuseppe Guarnieri detto del Gesù" played by Giuseppe Volpato (1734), the "Carlo IX" by Andrea Amati played by Antonio De Lorenzi (1566), the Viola "Stauffer" by Antonio and Gerolamo Amati played by Igor Merlini (1615).In addition to these instruments, there is also another extraordinary instrument which is the double bass, the "Gasparo da Salò" played by Leonardo Colonna (1590), not belonging to the Cremona "school" but to that of Brescia.Vivaldi's Four Seasons have been a great success, renewed at every private listening and public performance, since two centuries and a half. It can be claimed without hesitation that there does not exist any work of the classical repertoire of equally great renown.
