Description
This is a live sound recording of "J.B." an award winning play by Archibald Macleish, starring Raymond Massey, Christopher Plummer, Nan Martin, and James Daly. This is a RCA victor two record set featuring a live recording of the play. This set includes a soft cover book about the play with extensive photos. The LP records are in excellent condition with no scratches. The inner sleeves are original with some discoloration due to age. The inner removable (red) box has inner box is in very good condition. The black outer cardboard sleeve has heavy wear to one bottom corner. Please see photos.
Based on the story of Job, this drama tells the story of a 20th-century American millionaire banker whom God commands be stripped of his family & wealth, but who refuses to turn his back on God. J.B. won the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1959 & the Tony Award for best play. More important, the play sparked a national conversation about the nature of God, the meaning of hope & the role of the artist in society
