Aretha Franklin-Lady Soul-Original 1968 Atlantic MONO LP 8176- Matrix number in dead wax ends with "-1A"
While common as a stereo pressing, mono versions of Lady Soul are exceedingly hard to find. It has been speculated that Lady Soul in MONO was never commercially released. I cannot verify that, but I can tell you that this copy was purchased along with a pile of other promo records of the era. It has been played twice. I bought it sealed several years ago and opened it before I realized just how rare mono pressings are for this title.
Condition of this record is superb. The only vinyl blemishes that I can see are some faint paper scuffs. Labels are perfect and the record plays beautifully. The jacket is still in shrink and the corners are square and tight. Both bottom corners show extremely minor shelf wear due to small openings in the shrink that were present prior to being unsealed. There is also a small amount of soiling visible (beneath the shrink) on the back cover in these areas. The shrink itself displays light rub wear throughout but it does not appear to have transferred to the actual jacket at all. Printing on both front and back looks perfect.
This is probably the nicest copy of this record that you are ever likely to find. I have no doubt you will be pleased with the condition. This item will be carefully packed and shipped via USPS Priority. Shipping is free.
