Bert Williams, The Mississippi Stoker 1906 -1911
Aretino Records, Chicago, Ill...D673
Aretino Record. 1907-1914. Chicago based records with an odd sized spindle to match the phonographs they went with. Phonographs were sold cheaply but could only play their own records insuring a continued revenue stream from record sales. Aretino was the largest hole of these brands being 3 inches.
This is the same version of Mississippi Stoker released on Standard, Harmony and Columbia all being Take (-3)
This is not one of Bert's more common releases, although it doesn't fit in the Rare, Rare catagory either
What makes this disk so special is the Aretino label, and the Very Very Good condition of this disk.
