redgarnett Store ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This beautiful and little-known LP from the Spanish label Montilla (FM-LD 18, US pressing, yellow/orange label, mono) features Ataulfo Argenta and La Orquesta Nacional de España justly famous account of Manuel de Falla's El Sombrero de Tres Picos (The Three Cornered Hat), originally recorded for Spanish Columbia circa 1957 and sounding magnificent here.
Filling out the disc is composer Julio Gomez conducting La Orquesta Nacional de España in his own Suite in A, recorded circa 1957.
Incidentally, the striking cover art is credited to Medrona. There are excellent liner notes (uncredited) on the reverse side of the jacket, printed in Spanish only.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is slight wear at corners, but really that is all. This is close to NM. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners' markings, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, and highly attractive – overall, a lovely collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. Although the surfaces are not absolutely silent, really this is a fine copy and playback is superb, close to NM. Those requiring a flawless or near-MINT copy are advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this is an excellent collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
